‘Understanding Participatory and Digital Learning: A Guide for Adult Educators” available in free download

Challenges. What does a challenge means? To us, it means a call for the unknown, for what is yet to be created. A call to share what we have learnt so far, to embrace what is there to be discovered, to generate new contents out of a common learning process. It is an act of generativity.

The DEPAL project first production is now ready to be shared: the ‘Understanding Participatory and Digital Learning: A Guide for Adult Educators” outlines the theoretical basis to weave together threads from Digital Storytelling and Participatory Education in order to provide a powerful resource and approach for adult educators across Europe.

Each chapter of the guide has been written by one of the partners organisations, and as such, each has a different perspective brought from that organization’s own experience and field of expertise.

The five chapters of the guide introduce the context, theory and rationale behind using participatory and digital learning with adults:

  1. Background thinking. Participatory Adult Learning, by Frank Naughton & Jacqui Gage, Partners Training for Transformation (IE)
  2. Creating Safe Spaces for Dialogue, by Karen Wynne, Liverpool World Centre (UK)
  3. Faithful and Holistic Adult Learning, by Matthew Thompson, Liverpool Community Spirit (UK)
  4. The Coin of Communication: Listening & Speaking, by Frank Naughton & Jacqui Gage, Partners Training for Transformation (IE)
  5. Digital Storytelling: Group Facilitation in Digital Learning, by Paolo Brusa & Angela Salvatore, LABC (IT)
