“FIL – Finance in everyday life” aims to provide disadvantaged adults with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate the financial and digital fields.
Acquiring these skills means accessing a level of autonomy which is essential to improve the quality of life and well-being of individuals.
The results of the work are addressed to adults and the educators who guide them: effective and quality teaching of these subjects, unfortunately completely neglected in traditional school plans, is the key to bridging a cultural gap that risks compromising individual self-determination skills.
The goal that the project pursues is to offer “a combination of awareness, knowledge, skills, attitude and behavior necessary to make sound financial decisions and, ultimately, to achieve individual financial well-being”.
Compared to the state of the art, the writing phase of the IO1 modules has been completed and can be accessed for free at (https://fil.erasmus.site/e-learning/):.
- Module 1 – “My money are mine – how can I manage my budget – basics of finance“
- Module 2 – “Oh no! Another bill to pay! – how can I count my expenditures”
- Module 3 – “The bank is not as black as it is painted – how to read financial documents”
- Module 4 – “Assessing learners skills and competences”
- Module 5 – “Creating awareness on validation of the acquired competences”
The project reacted to the restrictions related to the COVID pandemic by transferring the transnational meetings in a virtual environment and on 22 September by videoconference, during the Second Transnational Meeting, the results of the first phase were analyzed with a view to improving them and activities were defined.
The next steps will be:
- OI1 – National Tests: First each partner for their country will involve 20 adult educators in the training modules tests. This activity will be online through surveys, questionnaires and interactive sessions if there are specific requests.
- OI2 – Drafting of support material Meanwhile, the partners will start working on the IO2 phase it envisages a manual entitled “Guide for adult educators – Bon voyage, on the way to improving basic skills” which includes tips and indications for using the Open Educational Resource (OER) and a didactic plan full of useful ideas for educators.
A brochure or info-graphic to summarize the main information of the guide addressed to the final target to simplify the actions to be taken which will be divided into the categories “always do this” and “never do this”.
