DESCRIPTION
The Go2Grove initiative is a Europe-wide capacity-building project funded under the Erasmus + KA220-VET programme. It is designed to support the economic and social inclusion of Ukrainian refugees by equipping them with practical skills in olive cultivation and olive oil production, a key agricultural sector with significant labour demand in Mediterranean EU countries.
The project responds to two interconnected needs:
- Facilitating labour market integration of displaced individuals by providing them with relevant vocational competences; and
- Addressing workforce shortages in the Mediterranean agri-food sector.
Go2Grove adopts an innovative vocational education and training (VET) approach, blending practical, on-farm learning with digital learning tools to create an accessible, high-quality training offer for both learners and educators. By integrating practical experience with innovative digital content, Go2Grove strengthens both learners’ employability and the instructional capacity of participating VET organisations.
TARGET GROUP
- Ukrainian refugees seeking vocational qualifications and pathways into agricultural employment.
- VET providers and trainers who will deliver and support the training.
- Agricultural organisations involved in olive cultivation and production.
- Non-profit and migrant support organisations facilitating inclusion and labour market access.
PROJECT RESULTS
The project will generate practical learning tools that support both educators and learners, including:
- A Digital Handbook that systematically explains all phases of olive cultivation and olive oil production.
- A set of educational video collections demonstrating core agricultural practices and production processes.
- An interactive e-learning platform with 3D visualisation, integrated digital content and self-assessment quizzes.
